As per a stock exchange filing on 15th July, People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC) announced that it assumed duties as Managing Agent of People’s Merchant Finance PLC with effect from 14th July 2015.
Previously on 17th June, PLC announced as a clarification to a newspaper article, that it was informed by the CBSL that the Monetary Board has decided to make this appointment.
Moreover, there were changes in the Board of Directors of PMB including the appointment of Chairman.
Mr. Hemasiri Fernando was appointed as a Non Executive Non Independent Chairman of the company while Mr. Vasantha Kumar, Mr. D. P. Kumarage, Mr. U. N. Gunasekara, Mr. M. P. Amirthanayagam and Mr. J. A. Fernando were appointed as Non Executive Directors.
PLC closed at 23.40/- [+0.40] while PMB closed at 23.30/- [-0.80]
